Moving a podcast feed is more than copying titles into a new dashboard. Listeners and directories need to recognize the existing show and its episodes. Prepare a comparison before changing a live feed location.
Inventory the current show
Save the current feed URL and a snapshot of the feed through an appropriate secure team process. Record the show title and the stable identifiers of several episodes, including the oldest and newest ones. Note where the audio files are hosted and which people control the relevant accounts.
Read the current migration instructions from both the old and new hosts and from the directories that matter to the show. Redirect and ownership steps can be service-specific. Do not assume that changing a link on the show's website performs the whole migration.
Compare the imported episodes in the destination before the switch. Titles, durations, publication dates, identifiers and enclosure URLs should represent the intended existing catalog.
Make the change observable
Choose a time when someone can check the result. Avoid combining a host move with a large artwork, title and audio replacement campaign if those changes are not necessary. Fewer simultaneous changes make problems easier to identify.
After the switch, check the public feed and several normal listening paths. Confirm that old episode links and media remain available according to the migration plan. Keep access to the old system until the documented transition steps are complete.
A migration may require guidance from the providers. Keep a short record of the intended identity-preserving behavior so support can compare it with the actual result. Protect the existing audience relationship before optimizing the convenience of the new dashboard.
